HERMES 15th: FPGA Reclocking With a Precision OCXOAt the core of HERMES 15th is a proprietary FPGA DSP processing architecture feeding an FIFO buffer that reclocks the incoming digital signal against an onboard, oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) rather than the source device’s own clock.
That reclocking is intended to strip jitter from the signal before it reaches a downstream DAC, with all digital input interfaces optically isolated to keep noise from the source out of the signal path.

HERMES 15th: Up to DSD512 and 768kHz PCMHERMES 15th accepts DSD64 (2.8224MHz, DoP) over coax, AES/EBU and optical inputs, and steps up to DSD512 (22.5792MHz) over USB input and I²S output, alongside PCM up to 192kHz across every input and output.
Its USB input alone extends further still, handling PCM up to 768kHz and I²S output up to 384kHz, run through a proprietary USB audio solution built on an STM32F446 ARM-based MCU with a licensed Thesycon driver for Windows and fully driverless operation on Mac and Linux.

HERMES 15th: Flexible Digital Input and OutputDigital inputs cover coax S/PDIF via RCA, a single TOSLink optical input, a single AES/EBU input and USB2.0 Type B, while the output side adds a second AES/EBU connection plus I²S over both HDMI (LVDS) and RJ45 (LVCMOS) standards for a wide range of downstream DACs.
HERMES 15th also accepts an external clock input at 45.1548MHz or 49.152MHz, letting it lock to an outboard master clock for systems that already have one, rather than always relying on its own onboard OCXO.

HERMES 15th: An 80VA UPOCC TransformerPower comes from an 80VA UPOCC copper O-core transformer feeding a worldwide-voltage 100-240VAC supply, with the whole unit drawing 20W or less.
Housed in a 330 x 255 x 65mm, 4.35kg chassis available in black or silver, HERMES 15th carries a 12-month warranty as part of Denafrips’ 15th Anniversary Edition DDC lineup.
