KUBE 12 MIE: Sealed for AccuracyKUBE 12 MIE uses a sealed cabinet rather than a ported one. There is no port to tune, chuff or delay the bass, so the roll-off is gentle and the output stays tight and in time with the speakers above it - the difference between bass you can follow and bass that merely rumbles.
The 300 mm (12 in.) driver reaches 22 Hz - 140 Hz (+/-3dB) with a maximum output of 114 dB. Sealed alignments are also far more forgiving about placement, which matters when a subwoofer has to live where the room allows rather than where theory prefers.

KUBE 12 MIE: Music Integrity EngineKUBE 12 MIE is driven by KEF's Music Integrity Engine, a DSP suite that shapes the driver's behaviour rather than simply filtering the signal. It keeps the cone linear near its excursion limit, so the sub stays clean at the level where a lesser design starts to compress.
A 300 W RMS Class-D amplifier supplies the power, running cool enough to sit in a cabinet and efficient enough not to need a large heatsink on the back panel.

KUBE 12 MIE: Setting It UpKUBE 12 MIE gives you a variable low pass filter from 40 Hz to 140 Hz plus a dedicated LFE position, so it can either blend with full-range speakers or take a processed feed from an AV receiver without double-filtering.
Connection is via RCA phono sockets or speaker-level inputs, so it works with a modern AV receiver and with a stereo amplifier that has no subwoofer output. Power input is 100 - 240 V, 50/60 Hz.

KUBE 12 MIE: Going WirelessKUBE 12 MIE has an expansion port for the optional KW1 wireless adapter kit. Fitting it removes the cable run between amplifier and subwoofer, which is usually what decides where a sub can actually go in a living room.
KUBE 12 MIE measures H 410 x W 393 x D 410 mm including rear panel and feet and weighs 18.6 kg, so it stays visually discreet for the output it produces.
