KUBE 8 MIE: Sealed for AccuracyKUBE 8 MIE uses a sealed cabinet rather than a ported one. There is no port to tune, chuff or delay the output, so the roll-off is gentle and the bass stays in time with the speakers above it - the difference between bass you can follow and bass that merely rumbles.
The 200 mm (8 in.) driver reaches 34 Hz - 140 Hz (-6dB) with a maximum output of 105 dB. Sealed alignments are also far more forgiving about placement, which matters in the smaller rooms this model is aimed at.

KUBE 8 MIE: Music Integrity EngineKUBE 8 MIE is driven by KEF's Music Integrity Engine, a DSP suite that shapes how the driver behaves rather than simply filtering the signal. It keeps the cone linear close to its excursion limit, so the sub stays clean where a lesser design starts to compress.
A 300 W RMS Class-D amplifier supplies the power, running cool enough to sit inside a cabinet and efficient enough not to need a large heatsink hanging off the back panel.

KUBE 8 MIE: Setting It UpKUBE 8 MIE gives you a variable low pass filter from 40 Hz to 140 Hz plus a dedicated LFE position, so it can blend with full-range speakers or take a processed feed from an AV receiver without double-filtering the signal.
Connection is via RCA phono sockets or speaker-level inputs, so it works with a modern AV receiver and with a stereo amplifier that has no subwoofer output. Power input is 100 - 240 V, 50/60 Hz.

KUBE 8 MIE: Going WirelessKUBE 8 MIE has an expansion port for the optional KW1 wireless adapter kit. Fitting it removes the cable run between amplifier and subwoofer, which is usually what decides where a sub can actually go in a living room.
KUBE 8 MIE measures 293 x 293 x 310 mm including rear panel and feet and weighs 9.4 kg - the smallest and lightest of the KUBE MIE range, and the natural partner for a compact pair of speakers.
