Driven by its impressive 670 mm spherical wave horn with a frequency response down to 170 Hz, the DUO is the epitome of performance and dynamic elegance. In the fascinating world of spherical wave horns, size is the defining criterion - the larger the horn, the deeper its lower bandwidth and the more the listener is drawn into the maelstrom of superior performance. With 107 dB/W/m efficiency and an 18 Ohm impedance, it is extremely easy to drive and ideal for low-power amplifiers.
The Evolution XM2 midrange driver - a 170 mm chassis with a powerful Alnico magnet - is joined by the same XT3 tweeter used in the flagship TRIO G3, extending the frequency range up to 28,000 Hz. The active subwoofer uses the new XB12 driver with a 153 mm voice coil, powered by the G3-500 amplifier with 500 watts and an advanced digital sound processor.
One speaker, two versions: the semi-active version for use with external hi-fi amplifiers, or the fully active iTRON version with the patented current amplifiers built in. All electronics sit in easily replaceable technology modules, so a semi-active speaker can be upgraded to iTRON at any time.
