SPACEHORN. Bass horns are the premier class in loudspeaker construction - no other subwoofer system is even halfway comparable. For music connoisseurs the sound is legendary, and every audiophile dreams of experiencing a large horn-loaded bass system at least once in their life.
We created a legend over 20 years ago with our Avantgarde BassHorn, a horn-loaded bass system that eclipsed everything before it and finally catapulted the Trio System into iconic status. Since 2001 we have installed a considerable number of these systems all over the world, analysed frequency response measurements in countless rooms and learned a great deal. The SpaceHorn is the sum of that 20 years of experience.
We calculated the horn expansion with a significantly reduced opening momentum, which let us increase the horn length to an impressive 1,898 mm with no other significant change in dimensions. This 40% increase in horn length over its predecessor results in a large increase in sound radiation resistance - efficiency in the important 40-100 Hz range is up by an average of 5 dB, a 4x increase in acoustic output.
Available as Single Drive (one XB12 driver, 492 mm high) or Twin Drive (two XB12 drivers with dual-mono XD-1000 amplifiers delivering 2 x 500 watts, 748 mm high). Ahead of its time, with technology inspired by the past.
