670 mm Spherical Wave Horn and Evolution XM2 MidrangeThe Evolution XM2 midrange driver - a 170 mm chassis with a powerful Alnico magnet - is designed for a large linear diaphragm excursion. Its new 'Soft Mesh Compound' cone uses a robust mesh shell as the basis of its construction.
The microscopic openings in the mesh are sealed with a damping elastomer coating. The combination of the strong mesh structure and the flexible coating creates a broadband absorption effect that effectively dampens partial vibrations of the diaphragm and thus unwanted harmonics. The driver delivers 107 dB/W/m efficiency with 18 Ohm Omega technology and an ultra-low compression ratio.

XT3 Tweeter. The Same as Our Flagship TRIO G3.The DUO SD uses the same XT3 tweeter as our flagship TRIO G3. The XT3's lighter, annular diaphragm extends the frequency range up to 28,000 Hz with a sensitivity of 107 dB/W/m, providing greater clarity, focus and a fuller, more natural sound.
The 200 mm tweeter horn gives a lower cut-off frequency with substantially increased acoustic power and a linear phase response with less than 50 degrees deviation from 4,000 to 20,000 Hz. In the G3 Series all drivers sit on one axis, so the acoustic centres are on the same plane and the signals from tweeter, midrange and woofer arrive at the listener at the same time.

XB12 Bass Driver. Radical Bass. Radical Drive.For the DUO SD we developed a completely new drive. Compared to the previous model we increased the voice coil from 100 mm to 153 mm. With this gigantic 6 inch motor structure we achieve absolute top values for power factor and power handling, while reducing power compression.

The huge voice coil transfers 1.15 Tesla flux density over a 480 mm voice coil circumference - an increase of over 50% compared to the previous model. The diaphragm is a composite of long-fibre paper and carbon fibre, extremely strong and torsion resistant for precise pistonic excursion.

G3-500 Bass Amplifier and Digital CrossoverThe DUO SD's active subwoofer is powered by the G3-500 power module - a 500 watt amplifier that provides ample headroom for complex EQ settings. Connection is via speaker-level input terminals or balanced, transformer-coupled XLR line inputs, and the subwoofer can be switched on remotely via a 12 volt trigger. All electronics are protected by a state-of-the-art E-Fuse circuit.
The digital crossover eliminates all passive filter elements in the signal path with a precision that analogue technology cannot achieve. The completely redesigned user interface makes it easy to adjust BASS-BOOST below 45 Hz, the LPF-RANGE crossover point, an 8-band equaliser and two narrow-band notch filters for room resonances. Two LAN sockets allow multiple subwoofers to be daisy-chained for simultaneous programming.
