3-Way Horn System. 109 dB Efficiency.The Trio is a 3-way ultra high performance horn system. With an efficiency of 109 dB/W/m, it is Avantgarde's most powerful and therefore distortion-free loudspeaker. The recommended amplifier power starts at just 2 watts - almost any amplifier can drive it to lifelike levels without ever straining.
Three spherical horns cover the range from 100 Hz to 28,000 Hz: a 950 mm low-mid horn on a 200 mm / 8 inch driver, a 570 mm midrange horn on a 50 mm / 2 inch driver, and a 200 mm tweeter horn on a 25 mm / 1 inch driver. Crossover points sit at 100, 600 and 4,000 Hz with a nominal impedance of 19 Ohm.

The Bionic Horn Principle, Taken to the ExtremeIn the G3 version of the TRIO we have taken the bionic horn principle to the extreme. Powerful horn performance through unbridled efficiency across a huge frequency range, with a 180 degree aperture angle on every horn.
All the drivers sit on one axis, so the acoustic centres are on the same plane and the distance to the listener is always identical - the signals from tweeter, midrange and low-mid arrive at the same time and therefore correctly. The passive crossover combines our SphericLowCut filter, AirGate technology and PolarizationPlus circuit with the handmade NatureCap capacitor.

Modular Technology and iTRONAll the electronics are housed in easily replaceable technology modules connected via a High Performance Multi Contact Connector. So you can easily expand or upgrade your system even after many years - and a semi-active TRIO can be upgraded to the fully active iTRON version at any time.
iTRON is our patented Game Changer technology, where we directly control the acceleration of the diaphragms through a perfectly orchestrated current flow rather than a voltage. The iTRON module delivers 3 x 100 watts in a fully balanced, single-ended, zero-feedback circuit.

Combined with the SpaceHornThe TRIO reaches down to 100 Hz. Below that it is combined with the SpaceHorn - the latest evolution of our legendary BassHorn - for a unique and overwhelming sonic experience that no conventional subwoofer can match.
The SpaceHorn's 1,898 mm expo-spherical horn and XB12 driver extend the system down to 20 Hz with the same horn-loaded speed and effortlessness as the satellites above it. For more compact installations, the Twin Sub offers the same XB12 bass technology in a fraction of the footprint.
