PURIST AUDIO DESIGN USB ULTIMATE

Ultimate USB: Passive Filtering AddedUltimate USB improves on the standard Purist USB in two ways at once: passive filtering on the power leg, and a completely new cable design around it. The tuned ferrite is what takes the outside diameter to 0.60 inch.

Filtering matters most on the power conductor, which sits beside the data for the full length of any USB cable and carries whatever noise the computer’s supply produces straight to the DAC.

Ultimate USB: The Largest Gauge USB AllowsUltimate USB uses the largest gauge conductors the USB standard permits, so the signal transfers accurately up to 5 metres where ordinary computer USB cables are limited to a couple of metres.

The conductors are copper: 28 AWG twisted pair on data, 20 AWG on power, 28 AWG drain, at 0.234 Ohm/m and 0.033 Ohm/m respectively. The cable conforms to USB 2.0.

Ultimate USB: Noise RejectionUltimate USB combines precision construction with superior noise rejection for a richer, more natural sound than a computer USB cable manages, and adds low noise dielectrics with double shielding - 100% foil and a 65% braid.

Purist note that some computer USB outputs cannot drive longer runs of typical USB audio cable at all. This is a high resolution, high speed design built to pass a quality DAC signal further than expected.

Ultimate USB: Two ConfigurationsUltimate USB is available as USB A to USB B and as USB A to USB Mini, in lengths from 1.0 M to 5.0 M - the Mini option covering the portable DACs and streamers that never moved to USB B.

Ultimate USB has collected Positive Feedback’s Brutus Award and Audio Oasis awards at RMAF and AXPONA, plus Gold Show Awards from AVShowrooms. All material is treated with the Triple (3x) Cryomag process.
